A Dual-Band Dual-Output Filtering Power Amplifier Based on High-Selectivity Filtering Impedance Transformer

In this brief, a novel filtering impedance transformer with good selectivity and high termination is proposed, of which close-formed design equations are derived effectively verified. Then, dual-band dual-output power amplifier (PA) operating at 2.4-2.6 GHz 3.4-3.6 designed based on the proposed transformer. The PA contains diplexer-like output matching network, can separate two band signals into corresponding branches. EM-simulated results network show that isolation between ports better than 30.7 dB. Finally, for demonstration, using packaged 10 W transistor fabricated, measured drain efficiencies 45.3%-50.2% 41.7%-53.2% lower higher bands, respectively. Also, response obtained. A agreement simulated observed.
